Washington DC

My last trip of the summer....

Latisha and I had never been to DC but both our men had so we decided to go :)
The last final sweaty, hot trip of the summer! haha

We went and saw a few Smithsonians. They were actually very cool! This was the coolest building, but there was nothing but a cafe inside. haha

'The Castle'

Honestly, I can't remember which one this is. I'm pretty sure it was the first one we saw,
the Natural History Museum.

And of course we had to see all the politican attractions! :)

- Captial Building -

- Lincoln Memorial -

- Washington Monument -

- White House -

We did go see the DC temple too! It was getting dark so the pictures were pretty blurry and didn't turn out great so I didn't post them :(

Philadelphia and Gettysburg

Beau and I went on a little road trip on Sunday. We thought since we didn't have a lot of time we'd just do a bus tour. It was actually really fun! We didn't get off the tour much because we learned the hard way that if you get off, the museums were extra money (like $15/person) and we didn't have much time to wait around for the next bus, because they came every hour!

*I couldn't decide what order to put the pictures so they're just everywhere :)

'Rocky Steps' and yes there are really 72 stairs!

The liberty bell
I couldn't believe they didn't have better lighting in there. The whole museum was pretty dark.

Love Park was my favorite stop! It was well shaded, and it was hot and humid, and there was fun stuff to see!

Game Pieces

Even on vacation, Beau puts me to work!

Our Monopoly game piece :)

They had a lot of 'firsts' in Philadelphia.
This was the first hospital. The picture was hard to take because they didn't stop, so we did a drive by, but on the roof there is a big window, and when they did surgery that was their only light because electricity wasn't invented yet. So surgeries had to be between noon and two.

The first prison...It looked like a giant castle to me.

Independence Hall

Where they signed the Declaration of Independence. That is the exact chair Washington sat in too.

The goth kids of Philly...

Betsy Ross House
*There is the old 13 star flag flying there but we were too close to get it in the picture.

Ben Franklin's Grave

Benjamin Franklin Bridge
*goes over to Jersey

After Philly, we took off to see Gettysburg. It was only 30 mins out of our way so we had to stop.

We got to Gettysburg, it was a little late, but our intention was to go on a candlelight tour, we were too worn out from walking everywhere in Philly so we just got some pictures.

Observation Tower

On top the tower we could see the battlefield, the city and cemetery. We ran up the stairs so we could get some pics before it was too dark...didn't really help. :)

Beau with his big canon!

This is the only tombstone that we could really get to work in a pic haha

Hall of Fame Game - Canton, Ohio

We didn't take many pics for this trip because it was really short...
The football game was PACKED and it wasn't a big stadium.

Titans vs Bills
Titans won 21 to 19....I think :)
I lost interest after the first quarter cuz the Titans were slattering them!
Most the game was played on the other half of the field!

New York City

This was my first time to the Big Apple. There was five of us on the trip...me and Beau, Eddie, Jade and Ben...

(car ride from Pittsburgh, me, Eddie, Jade, Ben, Beau)
We drove Saturday night and stayed in Jersey. Then woke up early on Sunday morning and drove to the Staten Island Ferry and rode it over to Manhatten, and took the subway out to Flushing for the Mets baseball game :)

(Ben on the Subway)
(Beau and Jade)
When we rode the Ferry it took us right past the Statue of Liberty. Killed 2 birds with one stone! I figured it was small, but when I couldn't see it for most the ride over....um....haha
Citi Field
When we got to the game it was raining pretty good. We waited or 2 hours for the game to start. After it did the weather was perfect! Cloudy and humid but it was nice.

Since the game took longer than we had planned we only had time to go to Time Square. There were a ton of people there. We walked around, took some pics then ate at ESPN Zone.
