Halloween '09

I made Beau do all the Halloween traditions this year...pumpkin carving and dressing up :) I told him he'd better get used to it cuz he'll have to do it every year from now on! haha
(I had to do 2 pictures of the pumpkins so you could see my
dad's Pacman pumpkins in the front)
Beau did the skeleton pumpkin and mine is the haunted house next to it.
Hercules and Athena
I failed to get a good picture of Sombryn and Eric...Eric is the guy in pants and the leather coat and Sombryn is wearing the purple dress.
We were playin 'Rooster on the Roof'...Beau and I got out the first round haha

Honeymoon!

We took a Mexican Riviera cruise for the honeymoon! We had so much fun...despite the hurricane haha It did make the waters rough and it was cold everyday on the ship, but its not like we were planning on sun tanning anyway ;)
When we got on the ship we took a look around...

Beau over the main pool

Us getting ready to set sail.

Every day we got some ice cream! There was a soft serve machine right above our room :)

They had a big party for all the honeymooners! It was fun and we actually met 2 other couples that got married the same day as us from Utah...small world!

Honeymoon Party!

You can't really can't tell in this picture, but one night during dinner they had a big production. Everyone was waving their napkins and the cruise crew were singing and marching around.

I joined in! :)

Midnight Poolside Party...the fruit display was really cool!

Beau and I showing off our 'Love Shack'

Our first stop was supposed to be Cabo...but since we had a Hurricane close we had to skip it and go to Mazatlan first. It was probably the dumpiest of the 3 stops but it was nice to have good weather!

**Linz, you like my pose? It's natural now haha

Mazatlan

Back on the cruise...we decided to swin in our pool cuz the ocean was dirty! Probably all the mixing from the storm.

It was fun to come back to our stateroom every night and find a little animal on our bed :)

Elephant

Dog

Bat

Monkey

Turtle

Rabbit

Our favorite thing about the cruise was our land excursion in

Puerta Vallerta! We did some canopy tours!

They took us on an hour drive in the back of a truck. You all know the crazy, reckless driving Mexican's do...well that's how we were but helpless in the back! I was scared for my life on the drive back to the ship but we made it! :)

Next stop....Cabo San Lucas!

We just did some more shopping at this port. It was fun, but it was the hottest day of the trip! We didn't last long, but we had Danny and Melanie tag along. (They were one of the other couples from Utah on their honeymoon)

Poolside

Beau was mad we were going home...

Washington DC

My last trip of the summer....

Latisha and I had never been to DC but both our men had so we decided to go :)
The last final sweaty, hot trip of the summer! haha

We went and saw a few Smithsonians. They were actually very cool! This was the coolest building, but there was nothing but a cafe inside. haha

'The Castle'

Honestly, I can't remember which one this is. I'm pretty sure it was the first one we saw,
the Natural History Museum.

And of course we had to see all the politican attractions! :)

- Captial Building -

- Lincoln Memorial -

- Washington Monument -

- White House -

We did go see the DC temple too! It was getting dark so the pictures were pretty blurry and didn't turn out great so I didn't post them :(

Philadelphia and Gettysburg

Beau and I went on a little road trip on Sunday. We thought since we didn't have a lot of time we'd just do a bus tour. It was actually really fun! We didn't get off the tour much because we learned the hard way that if you get off, the museums were extra money (like $15/person) and we didn't have much time to wait around for the next bus, because they came every hour!

*I couldn't decide what order to put the pictures so they're just everywhere :)

'Rocky Steps' and yes there are really 72 stairs!

The liberty bell
I couldn't believe they didn't have better lighting in there. The whole museum was pretty dark.

Love Park was my favorite stop! It was well shaded, and it was hot and humid, and there was fun stuff to see!

Game Pieces

Even on vacation, Beau puts me to work!

"Sorry about that, whammy!" - Anchorman

Our Monopoly game piece :)

They had a lot of 'firsts' in Philadelphia.
This was the first hospital. The picture was hard to take because they didn't stop, so we did a drive by, but on the roof there is a big window, and when they did surgery that was their only light because electricity wasn't invented yet. So surgeries had to be between noon and two.

The first prison...It looked like a giant castle to me.

Independence Hall

Where they signed the Declaration of Independence. That is the exact chair Washington sat in too.

The goth kids of Philly...

City Hall

Betsy Ross House
*There is the old 13 star flag flying there but we were too close to get it in the picture.

Ben Franklin's Grave

Benjamin Franklin Bridge
*goes over to Jersey

After Philly, we took off to see Gettysburg. It was only 30 mins out of our way so we had to stop.

We got to Gettysburg, it was a little late, but our intention was to go on a candlelight tour, we were too worn out from walking everywhere in Philly so we just got some pictures.

Observation Tower

On top the tower we could see the battlefield, the city and cemetery. We ran up the stairs so we could get some pics before it was too dark...didn't really help. :)

Beau with his big canon!

This is the only tombstone that we could really get to work in a pic haha
