Beau and I went on a little road trip on Sunday. We thought since we didn't have a lot of time we'd just do a bus tour. It was actually really fun! We didn't get off the tour much because we learned the hard way that if you get off, the museums were extra money (like $15/person) and we didn't have much time to wait around for the next bus, because they came every hour!
*I couldn't decide what order to put the pictures so they're just everywhere :)
'Rocky Steps' and yes there are really 72 stairs!
The liberty bell
I couldn't believe they didn't have better lighting in there. The whole museum was pretty dark.
Love Park was my favorite stop! It was well shaded, and it was hot and humid, and there was fun stuff to see!
Game Pieces
Even on vacation, Beau puts me to work!

Our Monopoly game piece :)
They had a lot of 'firsts' in Philadelphia.
This was the first hospital. The picture was hard to take because they didn't stop, so we did a drive by, but on the roof there is a big window, and when they did surgery that was their only light because electricity wasn't invented yet. So surgeries had to be between noon and two.
The first prison...It looked like a giant castle to me.
Independence Hall
Where they signed the Declaration of Independence. That is the exact chair Washington sat in too.
The goth kids of Philly...

Betsy Ross House
*There is the old 13 star flag flying there but we were too close to get it in the picture.
Ben Franklin's Grave

*goes over to Jersey
After Philly, we took off to see Gettysburg. It was only 30 mins out of our way so we had to stop.
We got to Gettysburg, it was a little late, but our intention was to go on a candlelight tour, we were too worn out from walking everywhere in Philly so we just got some pictures.
Observation Tower
On top the tower we could see the battlefield, the city and cemetery. We ran up the stairs so we could get some pics before it was too dark...didn't really help. :)
Beau with his big canon!
This is the only tombstone that we could really get to work in a pic haha
